Success to be proud of at the Royal Auckland Easter show. Gilt Edge Alchemist won Champion Junior Huacaya and Gilt Edge Scimitar won Reserve Champion Intermediate Huacaya male. Judge was Bill Robbins from Australia.

Additions to the herd.

Hillside Gardens Adobe ET has joined our herd for in-house stud duties. We now have a number of our females scanned pregnant by him and he is proving to be very fertile. Adobe is jointly owned between Gilt Edge Alpacas and Legacy Alpacas in Levin. His sire needs no introduction. Banksia Park Kahn ET was the highest priced alpaca sold at auction in Australia in 2007 for $170,000 AUD. Adobe's dam, Hillside Gardens Miss Nuie has been an extremely successful dam in her own right producing 20 cria through an ET program. Her son Hillside Gardens Napoleon is producing lovely soft-handling fleeces on his offspring and is very much sought after. We are excited to have these new genetics in our herd and we are hopeful that he will produce some great progeny when combined with the Forestglen genetics already through our herd.

Adobe's fleece show below after 2 days of heavy rain and soaked to the skin. Still looking lovely.IMG_0890
